A child’s reading skills are important to their success in school. Reading can be a fun and
imaginative activity for children, one which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds.
The elementary reading curriculum in the Carlynton School District strives to provide
each student with a rich experience encouraging them to explore, discover, and ask
questions while inspiring a love for reading.
The National Read Across America has become a nationwide observance held on or
around March 2 in honor of the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
