FIRE STATION
PROJECT
New Fire Station is ready to open ! It has been much anticipated and is finally here . Station 482 , located at 1032 State Route 519 adjacent to 84 Lumber , was constructed to add coverage to the rapidly growing southern end of North Strabane Township . The building was designed with Firefighter safety at the forefront . It is equipped with 3 drive through bays to reduce apparatus back up into the station . State of the art cleaning and air filtration systems so that contaminated equipment can be immediately cleaned and remaining particulates removed to reduce Firefighter exposure to carcinogens .
The building also features living quarters , Administrative offices , a large state of the art classroom and whole station alerting system to notify firefighters of emergencies .
With the opening of the 519 station , the Washington road station will be closed for construction . This location will become a public safety facility housing both the fire department and the police department . During the construction project , apparatus will be housed in rented space near the current location to ensure response in the northern section of the Township .
