THIRD GRADERS CREATE MOBILES TO WELCOME IN 2017

Third Grade students in Mrs. Vescovi’ s room had some time to reflect on 2016 and share their hopes for 2017 by creating four panel mobiles that are on display in their classroom. The first panel of the mobile says,“ New Year, New Me!” and includes the student’ s name.

On another panel, students had to list two of the best things that happened to them in 2016. Many of their best events included special vacations to the beach or to Disney World.
On the third panel, students had to name something they would like to stop doing in 2017, such as biting their nails or being more kind to their siblings.
On the final panel, the students listed something they wished for in 2017. Examples they shared included getting a puppy, doing well on the PSSAs, and improving Accelerated Reader goals.
It looks like 2017 is already shaping up to be a positive year in Mrs. Vescovi’ s room!

THANK YOU, ROTARY CLUB OF BETHEL PARK!

The Rotary Club of Bethel Park recently visited all five Bethel Park elementary schools to deliver copies of A Student’ s Dictionary to all of the District’ s third grade students.

These are not classroom sets; rather, these books are the students’ copies to keep forever.
The dictionaries will come in handy when the Rotary Club sponsors the annual Bethel Park Third Grade Spelling Bee on Thursday, March 2 at Neil Armstrong Middle School.
Good luck to all of the students who are preparing for the Bee!
