al involvement. For this reason, I am committed to making the process approachable by providing clear communication and support. I want students to view elections as a meaningful step toward personal and professional growth, rather than a barrier. By fostering an environment where every member feels confident and supported, I aim to inspire more students to step into leadership roles.
Ultimately, I want my term on the NEC to be remembered for two key achievements: a smooth and efficient election cycle and the empowerment of nursing students to see themselves as leaders. By upholding fairness and inclusivity, I aim to leave a lasting impact that strengthens both NSNA and the nursing profession, ensuring that the future of nursing is shaped by strong, compassionate, and capable leaders.

Eastern Election Area Representative South Plains College Levelland, TX necsouth @ nsna. org
Hey y’ all! My name is Teylor Wallace, and I am honored to be serving as a member of the 2025-2026 Nominations and Elections Committee( NEC). I am a fourth semester nursing student at South Plains College in Levelland, TX. Becoming involved in NSNA has been one of the most impactful parts of my nursing school journey, and I am excited to bring my passion, commitment, and enthusiasm for student leadership into this role.
Earlier this year, I had the privilege of attending the NSNA Annual Convention in Seattle, WA. That experience opened my eyes to just how powerful this organization can be in uniting student nurses from across the country. The Convention showed me that every student has a voice and a place within NSNA and it reinforced my desire to help others feel welcomed, encouraged, and inspired to get involved.
As NEC South, my goal is to connect with students from every background, helping them recognize the value of leadership opportunities and encouraging them to take that next step. I want to inspire nursing students not only to see themselves as future nurses but as future leaders, advocates, and change-makers within healthcare. Whether it’ s supporting a classmate to run for office, encouraging someone to submit a resolution, or simply answering questions about involvement, I believe every interaction is a chance to empower another student to grow.
Looking ahead to the next year, one of my biggest goals is to help increase awareness and accessibility of NSNA leadership opportunities for students who may not think it’ s“ for them.” Many students hesitate to run for positions or take part in national, state, and even local activities because they believe they don’ t have enough experience, time, or confidence. I was in those shoes once too, but I took the leap of faith with no background, only a heart to inspire and lead, and ran for a national position. I want to work toward breaking down those barriers and making sure every student knows that they belong here. By creating intentional outreach, sharing resources, and encouraging mentorship, I hope to help more students step into leadership roles they may have never imagined for themselves.
