a Bachelor of Philosophy, and a Certificate in Global Health. Additionally, I serve as Vice President for Pitt’ s Nursing Student Association. Upon graduation, I hope to attend graduate school and pursue a career as a pediatric psych-mental health nurse practitioner.
During my first year of nursing school, I had the privilege of attending NSNA’ s 71st Annual Convention in Nashville, TN. Seeing what my peers were accomplishing in healthcare advocacy and leadership was incredibly inspiring and has shaped my involvement in NSNA thus far. I have previously served as NEC Chair for the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania – a position I greatly cherish for the foundational leadership skills it has prepared me with. I have gained more confidence in myself as an advocate and mentor. I hope
to have a positive impact on my peers as we learn and grow together to become competent, compassionate, and caring nurses in our future careers. It is my goal as NEC East and Chair to offer guidance to my peers who are looking to foster their professional development and become leaders. I want to create an environment that promotes inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation.
NSNA is an organization dedicated to the advancement of nursing students and the nursing profession, and as a member, your involvement is incredibly important to the future of nursing. I hope to inspire you all to get involved and explore your passion for nursing through this amazing organization. If you have any questions about NSNA leadership, please do not hesitate to reach out – I am more than happy to help!

Northern Election Area Representative University of Nebraska Medical Center Scottsbluff, NE necnorth @ nsna. org
My name is Steffi Geline Tactacan and I am honored to serve as a member of the NSNA Nominating and Elections Committee for the northern election area. I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and later moved to the United States with my family to pursue education and a better life. I am currently a nursing student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, working toward my BSN with an anticipated graduation in May 2026. Outside of my studies, I enjoy life as a proud cat mom, which brings balance and joy to my busy schedule.
As the northern election area representative, my priority is to ensure that the 2026 nominations and elections process is seamless, transparent, and inclusive. Elections are more than filling positions; they provide opportunities for student nurses to engage, contribute, and grow as future leaders. My goal is to create a process that is fair, accessible, and encourages participation from students across diverse backgrounds.
I recognize that pursuing leadership can feel daunting, especially for those who may be new to organization-
