My goal this year for NSNA is to make stronger connections between NSNA and the state and local chapters. I also intend on spreading awareness about Population and Global Health which encompasses many underrepresented issues such as mental health, noncommunicable diseases, addiction, reproductive health, and many more!
Outside of school, I spend my free time playing the piano, singing, and reading fantasy or romance books. I also love hanging out with my friends or playing with my dog and cat at home. Hi! My name is Shanelle Lee, and I’ m honored to serve as the Chair of the NSNA Council of State Presidents( COSP). Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I now reside in South Carolina. I recently graduated from Central Carolina Technical College with my Associate Degree in Nursing( ADN), and this fall, I’ ll be continuing my education at USC Upstate to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Nursing( BSN).
I’ ll be beginning my nursing career in the Emergency Department at Prisma Health Tuomey, where I’ m excited to serve my community and grow as a nurse. I’ m passionate about nursing because it combines critical thinking, compassion, and the ability to support people during some of their most challenging times.
As COSP Chair, my goal is to connect and engage state presidents across the country while supporting and strengthening relationships with all NSNA constituents. I believe in the power of collaboration, and I’ m committed to fostering unity, communication, and growth within our organization.
Outside of nursing, I love to travel and explore new places— experiencing different cultures helps me bring empathy and openness into both my personal life and professional practice.
