This year, my goals for the Health Policy and Advocacy Committee are to amplify student involvement in legislative advocacy, highlight student-led experiences, and provide tools that help student nurses feel more confident navigating policy and professional issues. We would love to achieve this by collecting and publishing a few student-led advocacy stories( e. g., highlighting how nursing students have made a difference in their communities) on NSNA’ s social media platforms or in Imprint magazine! Additionally, we want to focus on the 2025 NSNA Advocacy Education Day. This event is an annual event dedicated to empowering nursing students to become strong, informed advocates for our patients, communities, and profession. NSNA Advocacy Education Day is September 19, 2025, and we would love to see you there! Through these initiatives, we hope to inspire, educate, and empower student nurses to use
their voices and become advocates at the bedside, in our communities, and throughout our careers.
Outside of nursing school, I love to crochet, bead, edit and create videos, and teach myself how to play different instruments. I always want to learn the“ why” behind things and aspire to travel the world someday. Cycling classes are my favorite, and in my spare time, I love a good nap. I also love the color pink! Everything I own is pink.
I am so excited for this incredible year to come! I cannot wait to meet you all and work together to strengthen our voice, our leadership, and our profession. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to directors @ nsna. org. I would love to hear from you!
Thank you for everything that you do, and I look forward to seeing what we all will achieve!

Hey NSNA! My name is Grace Fawcett and I am happy to announce I am serving as NSNA Director and Chair of the Population and Global Health Committee for the 2025-2026 term. I also serve as a member of the Breakthrough to Nursing Committee and Image of Nursing Committee with my wonderful board members. I am eager to see what NSNA accomplishes this year with our amazing new Board!
I am originally from Cranberry Township, PA, but I currently live in State College and attend the Pennsylvania State University with an anticipated graduation of May 2026. I have enjoyed and made many great friendships participating in the Student Nurses Association at Penn State( SNAPS) every year. I was Community service chair in the 2024-2025 school year and will be Social Chair this upcoming year. I am also part of None of The Above( N. O. T. A) a cappella group, where I am Assistant Music Director and Merchandise Chair. Leadership has always been an important part of my journey during school. Finding roles within nursing and in my outside passions are what keeps me motivated and have shaped the person I am today.
The reason I decided to go into nursing is my love for helping others. In high school, I volunteered at Children’ s Hospital to celebrate the children on their last day of radiation treatment. Seeing the nurses interact with the children and their families was admirable and something that I knew I wanted to do for the rest of my life. From that day on, I knew I was going to be a nurse, and the rest of the pieces just fell into place. After I graduate, I plan on working in pediatrics and the specialties I’ m most interested in are oncology and medical surgical. After a few years of experience, I either want to try out travel nursing or go back to school for my Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner!
