Hello and Happy New Year fellow NSNA members ! I hope everyone was able to get some well-deserved rest and are ready to jump right into a new semester ! My name is Korina Ziegler , and I am the Western Election Area Representative for the Nominations and Elections Committee ( NEC ).
I had the opportunity to meet many of you at the MidYear Conference in Louisville , KY back in October and discuss running for national office . We held a workshop on How to Run for National Office and had so many people reach out with an interest and questions about running .
We are thrilled to meet even more of you at the 73rd Annual Convention in Seattle Washington , on April 9-13 ! This year ’ s theme is Nursing ’ s Brightest Beacons : Ignite , Innovate , Lead . The convention has something to offer for every student including , but not limited to , an NCLEX Mini Review , many wonderful speakers , an exhibit hall , breakout sessions , our elections , and so much more ! So , take advantage of what ’ s there and plan ahead . The full convention schedule and more information can be found HERE .

As the new year begins , the deadline for pre-slating has passed , but you can still run from the floor ! This means that you are required to have an NSNA delegate nominate you at the House of Delegates meetings at the 73rd NSNA Annual Convention in order to be considered for a position .
Here are a few things to help you get started on the election process before coming to the convention .

This information will be forwarded to the NEC director over your respective region ( North , South , East , or West ) ensuring that we can stay in contact with you throughout your application process if you choose to run .
