Despite her demanding schedule , Angela remains focused on her aspirations . She looks forward to her clinical rotations , where she ’ ll get hands-on experience and learn what it truly means to be a nurse . “ I ’ m most excited about meeting new people , learning as much as I can , and understanding how communication impacts patient outcomes ,” she says . “ I want to be that nurse who makes patients feel comfortable and ensures they ’ re knowledgeable about their care plans before they leave .”

Angela ’ s journey is a testament to resilience , determination , and the power of purpose . For other aspiring nurses , she offers these words of encouragement : “ Keep going . It may feel impossible some days , but the world needs nurses like you .”
WHAT ’ S HAPPENING
over 4,000 members statewide , NSANYS provides an annual convention to enable nursing students across the state of New York to come together and network with each other and with experienced nursing professionals . The 2025 theme is “ Mindfulness Medicine : Revitalize , Empower , Serve .” NSANYS is dedicated to focusing on the mental health of nursing students . They aim to focus on the “ put your mask on before helping others ” approach . Through this theme , NSANYS hopes to explore innovative ways to revitalize health care practices , empower caregivers , and serve their surrounding communities with compassion while fostering the idea of mindfulness between patients and health care professionals .

Keiser University Student Nurses ’ Association ( KU SNA ) ensured they closed out 2024 successfully ! Members held a bake sale fundraiser to support their local chapter . Fundraiser proceeds were used to purchase NSNA cords and stoles for their pinning ceremony in December 2024 . Organizers included Keiser University ’ s SNA Chapter President Akia Terry , Vice President Nadene Preciado , and Faculty Advisor Dr . Tarah Roch .
