Lastly , here are a few things to remember when you are campaigning :
n You are REQUIRED to have an NSNA delegate nominate you at the House of Delegates meeting
n You MUST see your name on the official ballot before you start campaigning
n Find a campaign manager ( NSNA Student Member )
n Create a campaign prior to convention
We want to stay
Connected
n Write and practice your speech , campaign , and come prepared to answer questions
n Familiarize yourself with the campaign regulations , as they are updated every year
Whether you are pre-slated or running from the floor , we encourage you to complete as many of these tasks before arriving at convention . There is a lot to accomplish in a short amount of time , and preparation is key ! I got the opportunity to run from the floor last convention and I found myself scrambling to get everything done on time . It can be overwhelming to get all your letters signed , essays questions answered , application completed , and a full campaign prepared in just a few short days . Taking care of what you can ahead of time will help ease the stress of campaigning and allow you to more fully enjoy the convention !
The Nominations and Elections Committee is here and ready to help you on your journey to leadership . If you have any questions or concerns about the application process , or running for national office please do not hesitate to reach out to your region director . We wish you all luck this semester and can ’ t wait to see you future nurses in Seattle !
