Hello NSNA members and future NSNA leaders ! My My name is Ryan Barrett , a nursing student balancing my studies between Madisonville Community College and the University of Louisville . As a father to three incredible children — Ashlyn ( 13 ), David ( 7 ), and Harrison ( 5 )— I strive to be a role model both at home and in my professional life .
Currently , I have the honor of serving as the chair of the Council of State Presidents and am in my second term as the President of the Kentucky Association of Nursing Students . These roles have fueled my commitment to advocating for the nursing profession and ensuring that our voices are heard at the highest levels .
My ambitions are set high : I aim to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ), followed by a Master ’ s in Health Administration ( MHA ), and ultimately , a Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner ( DNP ). My vision is to carve out a meaningful place in policy administration and legislative roles , where I can work tirelessly to fortify the nursing profession and safeguard the patients we dedicate our lives to .
When I ’ m not immersed in my studies or leadership duties , you ’ ll find me in the kitchen , cooking up a storm , or enjoying precious moments with my kids . Life is a balancing act , but with determination and a clear vision , I ’ m committed to making a lasting impact in the world of nursing and patient advocacy .
