Hello NSNA friends . I am honored and very excited to be serving alongside an amazing group of individuals as your NEC Western Election Area Representative . It was inspiring to see all your ambition and passion for the field of nursing at the Annual Convention in Nashville , TN . I look forward to meeting more of you in my home state of California at the upcoming MidYear Conference .
I am a non-traditional nursing student pursuing a BSN and MSN from the accelerated direct-entry master ’ s program at Alverno College in Mesa , AZ . I will be graduating in May 2024 . I am a post baccalaureate student with a bachelor ’ s degree in biology . While healthcare has always been a passion of mine , the diversity and personal connection I ’ ve seen in the field of nursing is what draws me in . During my time in nursing school , I have been an active participant and currently serve on the Nominations and Elections Committee in the Student Nurses ’ Association of Arizona . My nursing goal is to explore many avenues such as pediatrics , labor and delivery , and flight nursing . Ultimately , I have plans to become a Nurse Practitioner . In my free time I enjoy cooking , traveling , and going to the beach .
During my time on the NSNA Nominating and Elections Committee I plan to be proactive in seeking out other inspired and motivated individuals who are ready to influence growth in the field of nursing . As nursing students , we will become the future leaders of our profession . However , it takes drive and bravery to spearhead these changes . As your representative I hope that I can encourage you to find that ambition and that sense of optimism to feel empowered to make a difference . These past few years have proven this is a pivotal time in nursing and a time to reflect , learn , and grow .

NSNA Members , I would like to thank you for electing me as your 2023-2024 NEC South Representative . I hold this honor in high regard , and I am committed to serving both you and the NSNA wholeheartedly .
I am a resident of Florida , and I graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville ( FSCJ ) with my associate degree in nursing in May 2023 . I will be attending FSCJ in the Fall for my BSN . I am currently working as a Correctional Nurse with the Florida Department of Corrections in Lake Butler , FL . I have a passion for serving those who are in an underserved population . My job is challenging , yet it is very rewarding .
As the NEC South Representative , I would like to reach out to and encourage those who are not only qualified but committed and have a passion to serve at a national level within the NSNA . I want to encourage not only students in our larger institutions but those in smaller nursing programs as well .
