WE ARE CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT TO FOSTER TRUE
LEADERS, AND THIS IS THE MOST VALUABLE PART OF THE
PROJECT
YOU CAN DO IT WITH IMPERIAL TOBACCO!
n 2014, Imperial Tobacco launched a new program
of graduate recruitment in Russia. The program
offers graduates an opportunity to work for a major
international company and have a go at performing
different types of roles. Program candidates are
recruited on a bi-annual basis across all Imperial
Brands markets. The main goal of the project is to train
new generation of leaders.
"We are seeking active, ambitious and
energetic young people prepared to take
initiative and assume responsibility for their
decisions for our Graduate Recruitment
Program. We are creating an environment
to foster true leaders, and this is the most
valuable part of the project. Program participants
are sent to different departments and work with
seasoned professionals who share their knowledge
and experience with them. At the same time, young
people are encouraged to take initiative and develop
their own projects for the benefit of the company,"
says Zoya Romanova, Training Manager at Imperial
Tobacco Russia.
In Russia, the recruitment of graduate candidates begins
in April, while the program starts in summer. The project
is advertised at career fairs in universities, as well as
online and at career forums for graduates. Potential
candidates can also apply for the program through
the Imperial Brands website.
The company has introduced a common
candidate selection system applied globally.
It is divided into five stages: CV screening,
tests, telephone interview, office interview
and assessment session, which includes team
brainstorming, sales role games and individual
presentation assignments.
"I realised already at the candidate selection stage that
I wanted to work in this very team, with these people,
with corporate values and culture shared by everyone
