Radiology Acts of Kindness
06
As close as we are in the MRI department, we also embrace the other modalities within radiology. Over the past several years the IMRI and the interventional departments have developed a close working relationship. Last year interventional radiology worked with the Baltimore Rescue Mission to collect items to donate for the homeless. The Baltimore Rescue Mission is a shelter for the homeless that houses men, women, and children. Since this was such a huge success the interventional department is collecting items again this year and asked the IMRI department to participate. The shelter asked this year that we pack 200 lunches and also gave a list of items that they are in need of. Some of the items were gloves, towels, blankets, shampoo, conditioner, and diapers. Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional, the Interventional nurses, and Interventional MRI helped to contribute to this cause by bringing food for the bag lunches, helping to bag the lunches, donating clothes, monetary donations and other items.
