From March 22 , 2023 Shell will act as the designated strategic partner for Wärtsilä regarding lubricant solutions for all engines . Following the Testing Oil Partnership agreement signed by the two companies in 2020 – which saw Shell become Wärtsilä ’ s exclusive test oil partner for engines during the Research and Development and factory testing process – the new MLA will now see Shell provide lubricants for several first fills and Wärtsilä Lifecycle Solutions for stationary power applications .
