OILS & LUBRICANTS
Bel-Ray Molylube SF 100 Semi-Synthetic Open Gear Lubricant is used in mines around the world
for all point of application temperatures between -25 ° C and + 50 ° C .
To prevent premature wear of the equipment , and to provide customers with the latest open gear lubricant technology , Bel-Ray upgraded these already successful open gear lubricants . Important upgrades include additional grades of open gear lubricant with base oil viscosities to meet the demands of the new design . The viscosity standard for seasonal open gear lubricants used to lubricate external systems such as rotating components , dipper sticks and crowds remained unchanged . New grades of open gear lubricant with higher base oil viscosities have been developed and are being used to lubricate applications inside the machinery room such as hoist pinions and gears .
Load carrying capabilities have increased . The Four Ball EP Test Load Wear Index of Molylube ® Gear Tac Tacky Open Gear Lubricant was increased by more than 30 % to exceed the requirements of all OEM specifications . Increased load carrying capabilities mean less gear tooth wear and extended component life . The level of molybdenum disulphide has increased , which helps to reinforce the lubricating film , making it more durable . The increase in molybdenum disulphide also reduces the lubricant ’ s coefficient of friction , reducing wear , operating temperature and energy consumption .
Petro-Canada ' s latest PRODURO™ offering
A new multi-purpose fluid the manufacturer says can deliver up to a 6 % equipment life increase for applicable mining and construction equipment . Petro-Canada Lubricants , an HF
Sinclair brand , has launched PRODURO™ TO-4 + UHP , a multi-purpose synthetic all-season transmission , hydraulic , drive line and wet brake fluid for heavy-duty mobile equipment that increases equipment productivity and decreases operating costs .
Developed to improve the performance of mining and construction equipment operating in extreme conditions , PRODURO TO-4 + UHP it says maximises durability and equipment protection at elevated system temperatures and in severe operating conditions . Offering improvement in

High Temperature High Shear ( HTHS ) and inservice viscosity , as well as the potential to safely extend oil drain intervals , PRODURO TO-4 + UHP Petro-Canada says can deliver significant cost savings for equipment operators .
During a more than two-year long customer trial , the fluid demonstrated the ability to meet the requirements of the Caterpillar TO-4 specification , increase equipment life by up to 6 % and deliver significant cost savings based on 25 units for a large Canadian mine operating across two sites .
The advanced fluid can also eliminate seasonal change-outs for hydraulics , wet brakes , drive trains and transmissions without compromising the lubricant performance or equipment wear . Due to the fluid ’ s ability to prolong equipment life , PRODURO TO-4 + UHP can also help support a mining operation ’ s sustainability goals .
“ PRODURO TO-4 + UHP is a game changer . Working closely with our trial partner , we developed this fluid to extend transmission life and hours of service while reducing running costs ,” said Sharon Perichak , Segment Marketing Manager for Mining at Petro-Canada Lubricants . “ For years we have been supporting mining operators and equipment owners to overcome their lubricant challenges and optimise equipment performance . This ethos and collaborative approach has been at the forefront of the innovation and development behind PRODURO TO-4 + UHP and we are delighted to offer equipment operators the step-change in protection the transmission fluid delivers .”
Chevron ’ s latest Delo TorqForce offering
Chevron Lubricants last year introduced its Delo TorqForce Syn FD-1 high performance , fully synthetic lubricant designed for use in final drives and axles of large mining haul trucks and other support equipment . Delo TorqForce Syn FD- 1 was designed to increase performance over conventional SAE 60 TO-4 and FD-1 products and formulated to deliver maximum system protection .
This includes an expanded temperature range for year-round , all-weather performance with excellent cold weather pumpability in subzero / Arctic operations ; and excellent extreme high temperature and severe service performance . Chevron also says it maximises equipment life in severe service thanks to an advanced additive system which minimises wear in heavily loaded gears and bearings . It keeps metal parts free of varnish and sludge and offers improved protection against wear , rust and corrosion .
Finally the company says it holds up longer for extended service intervals having outstanding
