She was a housewife of humble origin and worked as an extra in Argentinian films. She built her middle-class home by marrying her fellow Afro-Argentinian Sergio Antonio "Gule" Montero in 1947. They had three daughters: Leticia, Mirta Esther and Celina Delia. Along with her daughter Mirta Esther, Orfilia was abducted from her home (Uriarte 2330 3rd A, Palermo Neighborhood) on 14 February 1977. The operation was led by the notorious naval commander Alfredo Astiz, a.k.a. The Blond Angel of Death. She stayed four days at the Naval Mechanics School (Spanish acronym: ESMA) and was released on the intersection Avenida del Libertador and Callao. She claimed as reason for the arrest that the daily quota of detainees was two persons short. After separating from her husband, she moved with her daughters to her niece Maria´s home. Later Maria's husband bought a house in 1000 Uriarte and built for Orfilia a terrace room, where she lived alone since her daughters left with their boyfriends. By personal belief she did not join Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, but always tried to track Mirta down. During the Alfonsin administration, the Join Chief of Staff proceeded to indemnified her with money A1, F2 A2, D1, F5 A3-A4 B1 C1-C2, F3-F4 E1-E5 and a house in the Agronomía neighborhood, where she was still living at the time of the interview.
