Joshua Mosebolatan,
Skill Champion Carpentry
What propelled you to
victory in the Carpentry
competition?
By following instructions,
exercising
calmness,
carefulness and endurance.
What
challenges
do
carpenters face in Nigeria?
The challenges are ranging
from stressful working
environments, lack of tools
and
equipments,
slow
and insufficient payment
culture by customers for
work done.
What is your advice to
youths like you who are
looking for what to do?
Your hand is your best
friend, so work with it as it
can never deceive you.

Is there anything you
would want government to
do for carpenters?
Assisting us to obtain
mature internships and
work
experience
and
empowering us with tools
and equipments.
What are your plans as
you have become Nigeria’s
champion of carpenters?
I want to break bounds.
Through my work, I want
to demand respect from
neighbouring countries to
our nature of wood work,
thereby promoting exports
of Nigeria-made furniture
and wood work.
