MUSIC IS MY LIFE
I’m Maria Proskura and I’m 17. I think that music defines our life, the way we smile, joy, upset, cry to the sound of
music. And what's more it often influences our mood. Music came into my life more than ten years ago when I
first entered my school in the 1-st form. I began attending choir classes and soon I found it really interesting. We
often were invited to different exciting concerts and festivals where we were awarded regularly for incredible
vocal talents as organizers said. But after six years our choir ceased to exist because of certain circumstances of
our tutor. I was very upset about that news. But I continued to sing at home regularly. At the age of 12 my
favorite singers were Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Craig David and Michael Jackson of course; who is still my
most beloved singer. Two years ago I enrolled to the Folk Choir and then I understood that singing is my universe
which opens lots of opportunities for me. Every year we go to festivals and contests which are usually organized
in different cities of Moscow region and we don't come back without prizes. It is very interesting and a good
possibility to communicate with people of various backgrounds and achievements. Due to the Choir and new
experience I took first place in our school competition “School Eurovision 2014”. Now I'm very grateful to my
teachers for their patience, love and care. I should admit that I can't imagine my life without music and singing.
For me song is not just a song, but it is a part of the soul which tells us what composer felt when he or she was
writing this song. Besides, I want people to listen “right” music and I wish there were more people who really
appreciate composer 's and writer's work. –Maria Proskura
