THE ENCOUNTER
“Long live, SG!” is the joyful shouts of the Student Government officers in a night they called as “The
Encounter”. “The Encounter” is an event where incoming and outgoing Student Government (SG) officers meet
to alienate the ANIMO of SERVICE towards EXCELLENCE!
GLIMPSE OF THE PAST- “The Encounter” was started by SG Officers 2012-2013 with Kristine Hope Noval as
President (with her are Eric Jed Demecillo, Trixia Alloy Baguio, Klent John Lingo-lingo, Trisha Procianos, et.al.). It
was celebrated at Johans Cuisine.
THE LIVING NOW-This year’s encounter commenced last Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Ati-Atihan, Ozamiz City.
Indeed, ninety-eight percent of the officers (incoming and outgoing) graced the event. The remaining two
percent do have their valid reasons. Nevertheless, the event pursued and was highlighted with different
heartwarming messages. "If I'll be transferred into another office, please don't take Student Government out of
my custody.“, a line shared by Sir Ted Nudgent Tac-an, SG Adviser. He said that there is a possibility of him being
transferred to another office and so, the aforementioned line was spelled-out in his letter of intent.
"Being tough is his way of showing his kindness.", stressed by Maraiah Tess Dalid, the outgoing SG President. He
pointed that once you're at Sir Ted's custody, just remember the line for you were, are and will be handled with
care.
Further, this year's encounter was boon with a benevolent message sent thru sms from Ms. Meredith
Embuscado, Principal. She quoted John Maxwell's line, "TRUE leadership must be for the benefit of the
followers, NOT to enrich the leader"
