Coconut Oil:
Also known as copra oil. It’s an
edible oil extracted from the kernels
or the meat of mature coconuts.
Coconut oil has numerous health
benefits, it can last up to 6 months
at temperatures of 24 Celsius
without spoiling. It solidifies in
cooler climates.
Maple Syrup:
Is a syrup usually made from the
sap of maple trees. In cold climates
maple trees store starch in their
trunks and roots before winter, the
starch is then converted to sap in
late winter – early spring. The maple
trees are tapped to collect the sap.
The sap is processed by heating to
evaporate the water content,
leaving a concentrated syrup.
It’s the standard vegan replacement
for honey.
Miso:
Is a traditional Japanese seasoning
made by fermenting soybeans with
salt and koji. The result is a thick
paste, which is great in soups, stews,
and adding flavor to vegan cheeses.
Miso is salty with a taste not unlike
vegemite/marmite. Its high in
protein, vitamins and minerals.
