UPDATE FROM HULT’S FIVE GLOBAL CAMPUSES Happenings on Campus Catch up on what’s been happening at Hult’s five global campuses since you graduated. Boston December 6th—Arranged by the Corporate Relations team, the Microsoft company visit was a roaring success with the participants engaging extensively with Microsoft representatives. After meeting the students the Director of Tech Community Outreach agreed to forward potential candidates’ CVs to the appropriate hiring manager when the time comes! The visit also offered students a great opportunity to experience working life at this leading software multinational first-hand. massage rooms, nap pods, a gym, and a playroom. Students even got to sample their free snacks! The campus is excited to see this partnership continue to grow and expect to organize another visit in the spring, plus a guest speaker event at the Boston campus with a representative from Google in the near future. Hult Boston has gone truly Googley! summit open to entrepreneurs and those who are looking to launch their business on a global level. The 2013 event included speakers and sessions with experts on global venture expansion discussing how to globalize one’s venture. Keynote speakers included Claudia Fan Munce, Global Managing Director of IBM Venture Capital. The VP of IBM Corporate Strategy was also in attendance. Check out: hultventuregroup.com/jump London San Francisco November 9th—20 lucky Hult Boston students also had the chance to visit Google’s office in Cambridge, MA for an inspiring insight into this innovative software company. A panel of three executives spoke about what it is like to work for Google; the interview process; and the top five things they look for in a candidate (one of them being “how Googley you are”). A tour of the office included a peek at the high-tech facilities Google provides for its employees: 12 March 30th—The Hult Marketing Club and Career Services joined forces to bring MarketingCamp San Francisco to the Hult campus. MarketingCamp is a chance for those interested in marketing to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss new marketing solutions. For more information check out: marketingcampsf.org April 6th—The San Francisco campus held JUMP!—The Thought Leadership Summit on Global Entrepreneurship. Organized by the Hult Venture Group, JUMP! is a venture March 14th—Sponsored by Hult, The Economist’s Business Professor of the Year Award is a global contest to recognize and reward excellence in business teaching. 220 nominations were submitted from six continents and 35,000 students voted for their favorite of the professors nominated (as Hult sponsors the event, Hult professors cannot be nominated for the contest). The final held at Hult London was streamed live across the globe and saw the four finalists teach a roomful of current MBA students from over twenty institutions around the world. Those students then voted for the winning professor of the year, with online viewers also having the chance to influence the outcome. The chosen professor this year was Vijay Sethi of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. February 21st—The Corporate Relations team in London arranged for Dr. Beat Buehlmann, an experienced Industry Leader for Google and former Business Developer (Brand Marketing) for Dell, to come and speak to students on campus about Google, and specifically about how it is not a search engine and how there is
