this event was so great that the lecture was
streamed live into other rooms on campus to
ensure that all students had the opportunity to
listen in.
Following the speech, there was an hourlong networking reception with Dr. Buehlmann
in the atrium. The event was a real success,
offering all attendees a rare opportunity to gain
an insight into such a large global brand. A
great addition to the event was that all attendees had the opportunity to place their business
card in a bowl for the opportunity to win a oneon-one mentoring session with Dr. Buehlmann
at the Google offices in London. The lucky
winner was Bachelor student Viviane Barreto.

April 28th—The alumni, students, and HR
Directors mixer event organized by the Dubai
campus team aims to offer EMBA students
and alumni a platform on which to connect
with HR Directors/CEOs from local companies.
The HR Directors participated in a workshop
on how to tackle the current HR challenge
faced by companies operating in the United
Arab Emirates, and discussed hot topics such
as “Emiratisation” and talent retention.

March 7th—The Shanghai campus and
Corporate Relations teams came together
to organize a guest speaker event with
China-based entrepreneur, and Founder
and Global Director of design firm Creative
Capital, Louis Houdart. In his speech entitled
“Marketing Strategy and Entrepreneurship in
Dubai

the Career Services and Corporate Relations teams at the Dubai campus organized
a two-day event to connect Hult students
with leading employers. The companies held
presentations and carried out interviews with
participants. Some of the top companies in
attendance included Samsung, L’Oréal,

visit to Uni lever was a fantastic opportunity
for students to gain an insight into this leading
multinational consumer goods company.
Students were received by Unilever’s Vice
President of Finance – North Asia, then
attended a presentation on various aspects
of the company, and finally attended a
networking session.

April to June—The Shanghai campus will hold
three different Job Search Workshops and a
Career Open House event. Participants will have
the chance to learn real-time, “in-the-trenches”
career management and also receive hiring
insights from industry experts with experience
in China and internationally. Topics are divided
by industry (including Sales & Marketing, NGO,
and Manufacturing & Trading) and cover issues
such as industry and company hiring trends,
processes and requirements, expat hires vs.
local hires, the value of studying in China, the
competitive landscape for talent in Asia, as well
as recommendations for fresh graduates hoping
to develop a career in China, Asia, or globally.
These events are all great opportunities for
students to gain vital professional exposure and
develop an understanding of the breadth of career opportunities available in their campus city.
