LEWIS KING
Goalkeeper Lewis King was recruited by manager Dennis Greene following a short
spell with Evo-Stik Division One South side Eastwood Town. He is better known
from his Stockport County days, having begun his career at Sunderland. He made
his United debut against Colwyn Bay in November 2013.
CONOR MARSHALL
Full-back Conor Marshall joined Boston United in January 2012 from Evo-Stik
Division One South outfit Brigg Town. The right-sided defender had been in
impressive form for the Zebras after joining Brigg from Grimsby Town earlier in the
campaign. Marshall was close to being awarded a professional contract by Grimsby
bosses Rob Scott and Paul Hurst in the summer of 2011, but he was released from
Blundell Park at the end of August. He signed a new deal at The Jakemans Stadium
in May 2012 — and again in July 2013.
RENE STEER
Talented left-sided player Rene Steer switched from St Neots Town to Boston
United in October 2013 — only weeks after scoring a sensational long-range goal
which sprang to prominence on YouTube. The former Arsenal trainee, most at home
on the left side of defence, also spent brief spells with Gillingham and Woking earlier
in his career.
INDY AUJLA
Midfielder Indy Aujla linked up with Boston United ahead of their FA Cup tie at
Stafford Rangers in September 2013. The Bradford-based player, who featured for
the Pilgrims in pre-season, was registered ahead of the deadline for inclusion in the
second qualifying round action. The former Bradford City trainee had been training
with Sky Bet League 1 side Brentford and notably played abroad for Belgian side
Racing Club Montegnee.
SCOTT GARNER
Defender Scott Garner joined Boston United on a long-term loan deal in July 2013.
He pledged his future to the Pilgrims until January 2014 when putting pen-to-paper
to switch from Conference Premier side Cambridge United. After beginning his
career as a trainee at Leicester City, Garner made his mark during a spell with
Ilkeston Town, before securing moves to Conference clubs Mansfield Town and
Grimsby Town. He joined Cambridge in 2012 but played only five matches for the
U's before moving to Lincoln City on loan for the remainder of the 2012-2013
campaign.
CARL PIERGIANNI
Defender Carl Piergianni became Boston United’s third signing of the summer in
2013. His arrival on an initial one-year deal followed the earlier signings of
goalkeeper Ashley Timms and midfielder Gary Mills. The former Peterborough United
trainee, who made one Football League appearance for the Posh, signed for the
Pilgrims from Corby Town. He also counts loan spells at Spalding United and
Altrincham as previous experience, alongside a permanent stint with Stockport
County.
IAN ROSS
Midfielder Ian Ross rejoined Boston United in November 2011 from league rivals
Harrogate Town. After making 14 appearances for Harrogate in the opening weeks
of the season, Ross left Wetherby Road and linked up once again with former
Boston and Notts County team-mates Jason Lee and Lee Canoville. Ross marked
his senior debut with the winning goal for Sheffield United against the Pilgrims in
August 2005’s Carling Cup tie — before joining Boston on loan shortly afterwards.
He scored four times in 16 appearances during a three-month spell with the Pilgrims
and was duly named Powerade player of the month in Coca-Cola League 2 during
his stint in Lincolnshire. Loan spells with Bury, Notts County and Rotherham United
followed — before Ross dropped into non-league football with Gainsborough Trinity
and Alfreton Town. The dynamic midfielder played a key role in the Alfreton side
which claimed the Blue Square Bet North title in 201
