That is why it is treated in more detail further in this book. Active listening is necessary - to find out what the coachee’s real needs are - to understand his reality and his emotions - to know what is motivating him and what is holding him back To the coachees, the coach listening actively to them proves that they are taken seriously as a person and that the coach is making efforts to understand their situation.
