1973 Reports by The Justice Department
- In east Palo Alto California, 14 out of the 1133 units were occupied by African Americans, with 11 of the 14 units near the ghetto. With a total of 6 of the examened buildings had no non-white residence in them. Rental Units, discrimination rates ranged from 33 to 90 percent. Home buying, discrimination rates ranged from 38 to 96 percent.
- In Nashville, rental unit discrimination was as high as 33 percent. While discrimination in home buying the rate was as high as 55 percent.
- In Canton Ohio, rate of discrimination for rental units ranged from 25 percent to 83 percent. The rate of discrimination in home buying ranged from 29 to 96 percent.
