Day 1: Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi. An English speaking local guide will you meet you at your hotel for a Hanoi orientation. Spend the evening at leisure.

Day 2: Hanoi- Sapa( B)

This morning rise early as your guide introduces you to the historic Old Quarter as Hanoi comes to life in the early morning. Watch as the streets go from deserted to bustling. Return to your hotel for breakfast before discovering some of the city’ s key sights including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the house where Ho Chi Minh resided and One Pillar Pagoda. Next head to Hoan Kiem Lake and an age old traditional art form – the Water Puppet Show. The afternoon is free to spend at leisure before your overnight train to Sapa.

Day 3: Sapa( B, L)

Arrive early at Lao Cai on the Chinese border where you will then drive through the winding hills to Sapa. Enjoy breakfast upon arrival at your hotel with time to freshen up. You will then be met by a local guide for your first trek, visiting Cat Cat Village, a hydroelectric station and through the scenic rice paddy terraces.

Day 4: Sapa- Hanoi( B, L)

Today you have the choice to either visit one of the areas weekly markets( market location rotates daily) or enjoy free time to discover Sapa at your own leisure. This evening transfer back to Lai Cai for your overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi

Arrive early at Hanoi Railway Station where tour arrangements end.

Day 2: Hanoi( B)

Rise early and visit Hoan Kiem Lake to witness the daily morning routines of local people all whilst the streets of Hanoi come to life. Later this morning, discover some of the city’ s key sights- Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda followed by a Water Puppet Show. The afternoon and evening is spent at leisure.

Day 3: Hanoi- Halong Bay( B, L, D)

Departing Hanoi this morning pass through rice fields and bustling towns on the drive to Halong Bay. On arrival, board your traditional style junk boat for the cruise around the bay. Make stops to visit islands and caves. Kayak( optional extra) or simply take in the stunning scenery.

Day 4: Halong Bay Cruise( B, L, D)

For early risers, join in a Tai Chi class, or enjoy coffee on the sun deck. Catch the morning view of the seascape while enjoying breakfast. Today, visit hidden lagoons covered by majestic limestone islands and islets and wild beaches. Simply relax in the surreal setting.

Day 5: Halong Bay- Hanoi( B)

This morning cruise leisurely back to harbour. On the return trip to Hanoi, visit a local pottery village

Day 6: Hanoi( B)

Day 2: Hanoi( B, L)

Today’ s highlights include the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda and the 6th century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. In the afternoon, visit either the Ethnology Museum or the Vietnam Women’ s Museum. End your day with a walking tour through the Old Quarter, followed by a Water Puppet Show.

Day 3: Hanoi- Mai Chau( B, L, D)

Journey to the mountainous countryside area of Mai Chau and take advantage of the fantastic photo opportunities. Enjoy lunch at a local village and experience the lifestyle of the ethnic hilltribes in the villages. This evening choose to stay in either a traditional stilt-house in a village of the White Thai minority, or a rustic country lodge.

Day 4: Mai Chau- Hanoi( B, L)

Rise early and transfer to the village of Xa Linh, enjoying the beautiful valleys and peaceful scenery on the drive. After lunch return to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi- Halong Bay( B, L, D)

Drive to Halong Bay where you will board a traditional style junk boat. Visit islands and caves, kayak( optional extra) or swim in the emerald sea.

Day 6: Halong Bay- Hanoi( B)

Pass by beautiful outcrops and rocky islands as you cruise to port. On the return drive to Hanoi, visit a local pottery village.

Day 7: Hanoi( B)

Tour arrangements end upon check out from your hotel.
