Creating a clear link between the event and Roundabout was a vital aspect during the design process. To achieve this, all marketing and promotional material incorporated Roundabout's colour scheme for a strong link between the event and the charity. An online media platform was also used to keep all
marketing material together, which allowed all team members to edit and create new material with the set colour scheme.
Fundraising events were incorporated into event design, based on the theory that simpler, inexpensive events encourage attendees to spend more than they would at other, more high profile events (Webber, 2004).
Race Nights have proven to be popular forms of charity events, as they are a social setting to enjoy friendly competition with friends, and attendees have the opportunity to gain something back from the night (racenight.me, 2017).
Hosts from an improvisation society were used, as they would encourage attendees to place bets, minimising the financial risk of not making enough money on the night. They would also help to heighten the experience of the night for attendees and make it a more engaging and enjoyable night (Group 7 Events, 2015). The hosts executed their roles exceptionally well, and comments received at the end of the night all mentioned how well they did and how they helped to make the night a memorable experience.
