The 1st XV team had a great season this year . With games starting at the beginning of term three this year due to COVID-19 , the boys were keen to get going and it really showed . With an amazing start to the season , we remained undefeated with wins against Hastings Boys ’ High School 3rd XV , Lindisfarne 3rd ���������������������������������������������������� lost to Wairoa College who would again beat us in ���������������������������������������������������� was our game against the Napier Boys ’ High School under-15 team where we won in a close 26-25 battle , �������������������������������������������������� team showed great heart and everyone gave their ���� ������ ���� ����� ��������� ���� ������� ����������� week and the winter sports exchange are usually both highlights for the team , but these were both , disappointingly , cancelled due to COVID-19 . Overall , this was a great season for the group with some great games against some great teams , and it has set the team up well to be successful next year .
My experience with rugby at Havelock North High �������������������������������������������������������� Although most years we struggled with numbers , the culture built around the teams is a very positive one , focussed on growth and working to improve and play as a team . This is no doubt due to the amazing group of coaches , parents , and teachers who all volunteer their time , and also to the boys who I have played with .
