With COVID-19 entering New Zealand right at the start of the 2020 high school basketball season , games were delayed and the Havelock North High School Senior A �������������������������������������������������������� Despite this , the boys , and our coach , Cairo Kotuhi , put a lot of effort into training and preparing for the �������� ��������� ��� ��� ���� ����� ���� ��� ���� ����� ���� games . As the season progressed , we found ourselves battling for a place in the top four to go through to the playoffs . Some games the boys pulled through with 30 point victories , while others proved to be a real uphill battle which we didn ’ t always win . However , even with the lingering uncertainty about which game may be our last with COVID-19 still moving about , we fought our way into a position in the top four where we would face off against Napier Boys ’ High School Junior A , Central Hawke ’ s Bay Senior A and WCC Te Aratika Senior A . With our team containing six Year 13 ’ s , we went into the playoffs with the motivation of making our last season of high school basketball our ������������������������������������������������������
���������������������������������������������������� Aratika Senior A , a team we had previously beaten by a large margin during the regular season , but having acquired some key new players , they had improved . ���� ����� ������ �������� ����� ���� ������ ���� ����� teams were scoring back and forth . It came down to �������������������������������������������������������� tried everything to catch up , but were unable to do so , ����� ���� ����� ������ ������ ������ ��� ���� ��� �������� ���������������������������������������������������� hard and played some great basketball throughout the entire season and I was proud to be a part of the team and conclude my high school basketball career which started way back in Year 9 . I would also like to thank coach Cairo Kotuhi who took up the position in 2018 and has put in hours of his own time to keep senior basketball alive in the school . Without him , we may not have been able to play .

Boys Social Year 13
The Year 13 social team performed really well throughout the season to earn themselves a top four position going into the playoff section of the Hawke ’ s Bay Secondary School Senior Boys Division Four . The top-four round robin did not go as well as the rest of the season . Although they lost each of their games , ����� �������� ���� ������� ����� �� ����� ������������ game against a Taradale High School social team . Finishing fourth overall in the Senior Boys Division Four competition was a great result for a group of boys that entered a team just to have a bit of fun in ��������������������������
