KAURI LEADERS ’ REPORT
Kauri House Leaders

The opportunity to lead Kauri House came packaged with a lot of excitement and a wee bit of fear . Little did we know of the pandemic that would turn 2020 upside down . While we were unable to complete all the house events scheduled , that just made us appreciate the few we could hold that much more . It was our goal to make the most of this opportunity , and we couldn ’ t have asked for a better group of people to go through this journey with . All the Year 13 ’ s showed great resilience that we house leaders are ����������� ��������� ���� ���� ������ ���� ���� ������ ��� ����������������������������������������
2020 kicked off with a bang at Year 13 camp . This gave our year group the opportunity to bond and build a strong foundation for the rest of Kauri House . Being so close knit as a year group meant the rivalry between the houses could thrive and we could challenge each other while still having fun . This year Kauri has focused on building team spirit and encouraging everybody to get involved and have a good time .
������������������������������������������������� sports . It was the perfect day , it was warm and everyone was eager to get into the water . Throughout the day we saw many of our own Kauri students walk away with winning placings . This includes star athlete Will Knight who won junior boys champion overall . ��������� ������� ���� �������� ����� ������� ��� ����� together and compete as a house and although we didn ’ t win , we came out knowing we had done our best and everyone had enjoyed themselves .

Our second event of the year was athletics . Once again we saw many of our own Kauri students take out awards , including Elle Lovatt winning intermediate girls champion . With a mix of both competitive and supportive people in our house , we had the best of both worlds . Another of Kauri House ’ s amazing athletes , Karsen Vesty broke school records that day in both the 1500m and the 800m . He did himself and Kauri proud .
