TAINUI LEADERS ’ REPORT
Tainui House Leaders Jaime Luisi , Campbell Lane , Frances Rainbow , Harrison Bainbridge
On behalf of Tainui ’ s 2020 house leaders , it has been a tremendous pleasure to lead such a dedicated and talented house this year . Despite many interruptions from what most would call a ‘ weird ’ year , we are truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to lead and be involved in all house events and responsibilities . Our role as Tainui ’ s house leaders has certainly been eventful this year . It ’ s become something that we have all learnt from and would never take for granted . In Year 9 we were a part of Tainui ’ s big win , and it happens to also be the last time Tainui won the Patu . Witnessing our house leaders lift the Patu and hear the crowd scream was monumental and something we aspired to do when we were Year 13 . It was time to obtain what was rightfully ours in 2020 .
Year 13 camp was an extremely successful start for Tainui , ������������������������������������������������������� House . Over the two days us Year 13 Tainuians formed strong bonds and worked hard as a team to achieve some excellent results in all events . The most successful and memorable part of Year 13 camp for Tainui was undoubtedly our chant . With some creative lyrics and powerful voices we claimed the award for 2020 ’ s best house chant which played a key role in the later house events .
Swimming sports was the next big house event where Tainui were looking for a great start to the year . We went �������������������������������������������������������� our strong individual swimmers . An excellent individual performance was demonstrated by Tainuis very own Kennedy Molloy who won three of the four disciplines for the intermediate girls . As a house we put up a great ������ ��������� ���������� ��� �������� ����� ���� ������ houses major participant numbers putting us in a solid ��������������������������������������������������������
Athletics was the second major house event where there were big points on the line . Tainui ’ s belting chant was out on the day bringing fear into the other houses . Getting to see all house members getting amongst the events and giving their all was extremely rewarding to see for us senior students .
