Being a part of Colla Voce for the past few years of my high school life has been a very rewarding experience . Our director , Mr Joe Christensen , always makes our practices a fun and enjoyable experience . At the start of the year we had one goal in mind and that was for us to make the best sound possible so that we could perform to the best of our ability at the regional Big Sing competition with hopes of making it to the Cadenza choir competition held in Whanganui . Whilst we didn ’ t make it to Cadenza , the choir got other opportunities to perform throughout the year such as our school Music Festival that is held every year . We performed a selection of songs from our repertoire along with a cappella version of the song My Girl that one of our own choir members Ruth Stevens arranged . This year the choir is saying goodbye to three of its Year 13 members ; Renee Thomson , Elijah Moore and myself and , although it is sad to say goodbye , we know that the choir will be led by amazing and talented singers whose hard work , dedication and talent will keep the choir performing at the high standard we have come to expect .
