The Cultural Committee at Havelock North High School is the foundation of many extracurricular activity days throughout the school year where we provide opportunities for our students to shine . We are a group of 12 members , all of whom specialise in different areas of the performing arts and our mission is to bring cultural events to the students . Keeping our student body excited about the arts ensures a lively and exciting environment and we have been challenged to make the cultural scene at HNHS thrive . from Cultural Coordinator Andrea Wilson who has worked tirelessly to help us achieve such a high standard of fun for the school . We ’ d also like to acknowledge Mr and Mrs Cargill , Mr Brebner , Mrs Hanham , Mr Christensen and other teachers and tutors who have shown endless support to our Cultural Department here at Havelock North High School . It has been a privilege to work with such passionate people that make up Havelock North High Schools area of the Performing Arts .
Our first event was our beloved Havestock , which is the highlight of the term and sees students and teachers alike dress up as hippies , enjoying food , drink and stalls whilst being entertained with performances from our senior musicianship student bands who perform covers of the 60 ’ s or nostalgic genre to entertain the student body . Some highlights were a medley consisting of “ Sweet Dreams ” and “ Lay all your love on me ” performed by the Year 13 musicianship band and of course the customary performance from the staff band ‘ Penalty Sheet ’.

The Talent Show was our next major event and consisted of a three-day heat system , where students signed up to bring us their unique talents . This culminated in a finals night which was hugely successful .
For us as Cultural Committee Leaders , it has been an absolute privilege to be a part of such a strong cultural scene at Havelock North High School . The memories throughout our time here have impacted us in so many ways and we cannot be more grateful for the support
