LEADERS ’ REPORT

2022 has been an overall great learning experience for Tainui House , it has helped us realise that it is not always the results that matter , but the journey taken . Although the year started off relatively rocky - having missed Year 13 camp and then , unfortunately , having to skip over staple events such as swimming sports , athletics and house choir due to the widespread effects of Covid-19 ; Tainui House can be proud of what we ’ ve accomplished throughout the year . It definitely wasn ’ t easy , but we achieved our goal of creating a sense of community and camaraderie within our house and most importantly spreading that Tainui House spirit .

Fortunately , we were able to put our creativity to the test and develop new and exciting events that our house could experience altogether for the first time . These events include the kayak relay and the flutterboard relay . Fortunately , we were still able to compete in a Havelock North classic ; synchronised swimming . It was incredibly fun and definitely one of the most entertaining house events ever . These ' get wet ' events were a great alternative to swimming sports . They really pushed students out of their comfort zone and got them to exercise important skills such as teamwork . It was a fantastic starter for our juniors to witness what house spirit is really all about .
These events were a great opportunity to score our first set of points and put us in a position from which we could improve . It was clear from the moment they began , to the moment these events ended , that everyone who
