LEADERS ’ REPORT

2021 has been the beginning of Kauri ’ s rise back to a top contention house . After a few years of struggle in Kauri it finally feels like the house is turning back around for the better . The rebuilding is upon us . With a strong Year 13 cohort we were able to make a great impression at Year 13 Camp . Our amazing Year 13s were fully invested and went to great measures to boost participation within our house . This participation along with our fantastic talent within Kauri allowed us to pull a strong second at swimming sports , a real
highlight for us . It was also great to have three of the swimming champions from Kauri - Will Knight , Jess Mill and Ben Clarke .
Our abundance of talent was on display at athletics with a lot of top placings in all categories and , notably , Karsen Vesty and Elle Lovatt winning their respective senior boys ’ and girls ’ categories . Despite these amazing achievements we took our first big loss for the year coming fourth overall in the house competition . As house leaders we were still very proud of our house but we knew that there was some work behind the scenes that needed to be done .
