rebuild our house . Our main focus for this was getting the younger years invested in Kauri . They are the future , they will determine our performance over the following years . Thanks to early planning sessions we determined some strategies and basic infrastructure work that needed to be done to successfully achieve this . We put in the work , but time will only tell if we were effective or not . As house leaders we are confident in the potential within the house , especially for next year .
By striving towards our goals our house was able to bounce back and show our true mana in a strong Kapa Haka showing . “ I was blown away . The spirit we showed , the heart we gave and the quality we displayed was unbelievable . Despite only getting third we put on a fantastic display of what our culture really means to us !” - Kauri House Leader , Rogan Ross . That comment sums up our performance . The placings didn ’ t do any justice to the quality that all houses displayed on that night , producing one of the strongest displays of Kapa Haka this school has seen .
Sportswise , we took on netball with great confidence . Our girls delivered on this without dropping a single game . Our boys on the other hand just struggled to have chemistry which led to our unfortunate three losses , resulting in a second place for Kauri . Through it all though Kauri has been a supportive house of all students . We aim to make house events a fun and inclusive experience for everyone who wants to get involved . Go Kauri !!!
