Class III - A situation in which the use of or exposure to a product is not likely to cause
adverse health consequences. In a Class III Recall, product must be removed from all
levels of the distribution chain.
Detain and segregate all affected product and label appropriately.
Once the disposition of the affected product is determined, record in the Recall Log.
Dispose of the affected product.
After the recalled/withdrawn product is disposed of, a review of the production procedure with the
Recall Team and the HACCP Committee must be scheduled to determine the steps necessary to prevent
future occurrences. The Recall Team and the HACCP Committee should also analyze the Recall Plan for
improvements.
