“My name is Shanna ... I’m 45 years
old. I have 3 amazing sons, Clayton 26, Stefen 20 and Landon 2
1/2. I am a recovered meth addict
of 6 years. I say recovered because
that's what I am ... recovered ...
not recovering.
I was your typical mother of two
sons who were involved in baseball and football and I was the
team mom. My entire life revolved
around my sons and I loved it. I
was a medical assistant for a doctor and had been for 6 years. I
had an amazing life. The year was
1999 and I was 31 years old at the
time. I weighed in at 138lbs and
had never weighed this much in
my life, my average weight was
125.
“On April 29th, 2013 I posted a photo
of me clean from an 8 year addiction
to meth. It took my job, my car, my
house, my kids and nearly my life. I
posted this photo in the hopes it would
show that you can change your life. No
matter what your addiction may be ...
ITS NEVER TOO LATE!
I had no idea that I would receive the
response I did. I was not looking to
become the poster child of recovery
and in no way did I post it to waive a
flag and say ... “look at me I’m clean
and sober.” It was a message of
hope ... that's it ... nothing more.
I have received messages from all over
the world asking for some sort of advice and I feel honored. I was given a
responsibility I did not ask for but
have done the best I can to take on the
responsibility. I did not attend rehab
