He the drink that will quench thirst? The Lord
is vibrant.
Isn’t He the Painter of the sky? Our
Creator’s colors are bold and brave. His love
is simple, and He delights in me. So I have
set aside this time to lay my heart and body
before Him. Standing with Him, He whispers
His unwavering pursuits of my deepest parts.
He affirms,” I created you. You are wanted. You
are significant, and I love you. Live the life I
created you to live. Feel the feelings I created
you to feel. Express your love and emotion for
Me.” He voices enduring words as He pulls me
closer to Him. I start to hear His heart.
Isn’t that what life is all about? Hearing
the heartbeat of Jesus? Responding to Him, I
gain insurmountable strength and resilience
to walk through each trial and tribulation.
Wouldn’t intimately responding to the Father’s
heart enable me to, in turn, look intentionally
into people’s eyes in order to discern what
need they have? What need is it that the Lord
can faithfully fill? I gain security and purpose
as I look at Him. His eyes relieve the aching
and wanting, the starving and parched parts of
my being. He is looking at me, as I write these
words. He is looking at you, as you read these
words. He wants to lead us with our hand in
His.
He draws you close and whispers to
you the truth of who you are. You are who
He says you are, which is perfect in His sight,
because of Jesus. He declares you righteous
and beautiful. He whispers, “I have chosen
you. Come walk with me in the day and in the
night. You are mine. Do you trust Me? I will
not fail you, because I have already proven
Myself to you. I give you My devotion, My
attention, My attentiveness.”
When He speaks, our hearts submit to
His persistent pursuits? He is relentless. When
I surrender to Him, He holds my heart and
body – what beautiful comforting between
Him and me. We laugh together, and we cry
together, and we walk together. He shelters me in His haven. His presence calms my
wild, restless heart. His presence is power.
It’s power to live a vibrant and alive life, not
merely to maintain and exist. He gives us the
grace to open our hearts to Him. Lord, I stand
before you, looking at Your face with an open
heart. I receive Your love, Your grace, and Your
passionate pursuits.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is
in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were
bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”
