And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” ­— I Kings 19:11, 12 D esperation drives me to Him. Writhing from confusion, hurt, and anger, I cry surrendered tears with the One touching my deepest need. Beckoning His help, I receive His nurture and healing. Standing before Him, the Lord’s presence gently sways me back and forth. His eyes are on me, attentively watching every movement. He steps close. I look into His eyes. I sway to the left; His face follows me. I sway to the right; His face follows me. Gazing with intentional focus, His eyes probe and penetrate. He places His firm yet gentle hand first on 36  HimPower November 2016 my shoulder and then on my heart. My trust delights Him, and His approving smile melts me. He secures and softens me. Why go elsewhere? He knows me unlike any human ever could. He accepts me unlike any human ever will. He sees the best in me every day, no matter what.
