Storms Have Made Me Who I am,” just to
name a few.
HimPower Magazine: What inspired
the book and why?
Jennifer Workman: It was inspired by
way of the Holy Spirit and as a result of the
struggles and difficulties that I experienced
along the way and what God taught me as a
result of all that I had to go through.
HimPower Magazine: Will it be in
paperback or ebook or both?
Jennifer Workman: Paperback at first
and I will look into ebook at a later date.
HimPower Magazine: Are you self-publishing? If not, how did you go about getting a
publisher?
Jennifer Workman: Self-Publishing will
probably be a future endeavor but for now, I
formed a strategic collaboration with a couple
of publishers through warm calling, queries
and correspondences.
HimPower Magazine: When will your
book be released and where will our readers
be able to purchase it?
Jennifer Workman: As it relates to a
release date, it hasn’t been established yet but
as soon as it does, readers can purchase via
my website
http://jyworkman.wix.com/jennifer . There will
also be a direct link to the publishers website
to purchase it from there as well.
HimPower Magazine: What advice do
you have for any of our readers who are thinking of publishing a book?
Jennifer Workman: Nothing comes
easy. It takes a lot of work, prayer and determination to realize your dreams. You are going
to have many successes as well as many failures but don’t let the failures be the “end all”
result. Stay the course, pray, pray and again
I say pray and consult God about everything
as he will give you clear wisdom, discernment
and direction for life. Realize that you are
“not an island of yourself” and you need other
“divine connections” in your life that will be as
Bishop T.D. Jakes so eloquently suggests are
“your confidants” or people that are on assignment to see you flourish and add to your life
and not on assignment to subtract from it. Get
your information out there. The Internet is a
viable source if utilized correctly and offers so
many different ways to help with your overall
publishing endeavors. Don’t wait for someone
to publish your book. If you haven’t done so
already try self-publishing because there are
many sites out there that can be beneficial in
this arena. “Work hard at your goals and if one
door closes, push the other one down.” Don’t
let anyone tell you what you can’t do and for
every rejection that you do receive, don’t see
it as a negative but as a positive” and that you
are just that much closer to your goal! And,
“Never Say Never” because you can conquer
or overcome anything through God and him
spearheading and orchestrating your life!
HimPower Magazine: You mentioned
earlier that you were once homeless. How do
you feel that experience has shaped your ministry and outlook in life?
Jennifer Workman: I believe that it
taught me to be humble and that no matter
