Guided Walking Holidays
- Beaujolais & Burgundy -
Beaujolais Discovery explores a region known mostly for its
wines. This quiet region has a lot to offer the walker looking for
moderate days out and plenty of interest. Despite the relatively
gentle nature of their slopes, the scale of the peaks and the
depths of the valleys create a landscape of great panoramas and
rich contrasts.
This guided holiday explores the full range of Beaujolais land-
scapes from the high hills and ridges to the famous vine covered
slopes. You’ll also get to discover the beautiful medieval villages
in the southern Beaujolais as well as the grand crus in the north.
Chateaux, pretty villages, wine tasting, and great panoramas are
all on the week’s menu.
Includes: Airport and station transfers from Lyon, 7 nights' accommo-
dation. All breakfasts, 6 picnic lunches and 6 evening meals in two or
more beautiful guest houses. 6 guided walks.

The Beaujolais area must be France's best kept secret
walking area. It is not a place I had ever connected
with walking but it has enchanted me with its high hills,
vineyards, beautiful villages and friendly locals. William
has captured all of this to perfection." A. Tutin, UK
The Beaujolais region is synonymous with good food and wine
and on our Beaujolais Vintage Wine Trail you'll have the
chance to sample both in abundance. From our gourmet lunches
to the great 4 course meals served in our small traditional guest
houses, your taste buds will be thoroughly spoilt. The wine pro-
duced in the region includes young light fruity reds, dry crisp
whites & rosés, sparkling cremants and a range of more complex
red wines. Our wine tasting visits, (as well as lunch and dinner)
will allow you to sample the full range of wines on offer.

"We had a very enjoyable walking holiday in a very
beautiful location with good wines, good food and
good company. William was an excellent guide, good
fun and nothing was too much trouble. Wine tasting
caves very well chosen." R Crooks & V Powers, UK.
Best of Medieval Burgundy explores a rich landscape full
of historic treasures. Medieval chateaux such as those at Berzé
and Brancion, historic churches and pretty medieval villages
are set in beautiful rolling countryside carpeted with Chardon-
nay vines, pasture and forests. A number of rocky outcrops
punctuate the vineyards such as the celebrated “roche de
Solutré” important for its pre-historic human activity. These
landmarks provide exceptional viewing points to admire the
surrounding countryside. The Burgundy region is well-known
for its fine wine and gastronomic food, a reputation that is rich-
ly deserved. You will have plenty of opportunity to sample both
during your walking holiday.
Includes: Transfers from Lyon, 7 nights' accommodation with break-
fasts, 6 quality packed lunches with wine and 6 delicious evening
meals with wine. Wine tasting, 6 days guided walking. Two-centre
based.
“Thanks for another great walking holiday. I really en-
