Lost in Translation: A Bilingual Journey
What does it mean to be bilingual? Lose yourself in a joyful and
intimate journey celebrating languages, clichés and pop culture.
Interactive and thought-provoking, it challenges both theatrical
and European frontiers. Theatre Sans Accents first production
is inspired by its founder’s own experience of languages and the
acting world.

in Mali, to new and reimagined notions of African
cities, this short film programme for Hidden Door
will offer new perspectives of African cityscapes.

SQIFF Shorts: Regen(d)eration
SQIFF and Hidden Door collaborate to bring you a lovingly-curated programme
of shorts exploring queer notions of rebirth to consider how we (re)construct,
navigate and negotiate our queer identities. From captivating, tender animations
to the provocative, exciting experimental, this selection of short films showcases
some SQIFF favourites made by queer people, about queer people!
Kino Klub
KinoKlub presents: Soviet animation
KinoKlub is Edinburgh’s surrealist pop-
up cinema collective formed by Morvern
Cunningham and Malgorzata Bugaj. They are
committed to showcasing the best in surreal
and experimental film.
For Hidden Door, KinoKlub has prepared a
programme of forgotten animated gems from
the Soviet era encompassing propaganda and
popular entertainment. Weird, wonderful, and
surreal images with a variety of filmmakers,
techniques and styles.
