Hidden Causes - a Psychological Approach to Learning Detailed Ver. | Page 20
How did your disorder start?
My eating disorder started when I feel like I'm overweight and when people around
me started saying "weh lo gendutan ya"
How did you cope with having that disorder?
My brain keeps on telling me that I'm still FAT so I didn't stop my diet
How does it affect your life? (Social & School)
I lost some of my friends because they told me that I became more tempered and
lots of people around me were scared to be around me. Kalo school, I found it hard
to catch up with the lessons since everything on my brain is about losing weight
and I was too tired to study. My grades were also falling as I never study
What did you do to overcome that disorder?
Support from friends and family but mostly because of my own will.
What advice do you suggest to fellow teenagers that might suffer
the same disorder?
Being skinny doesn't make you become any better. Suffering your own body will
only make you regret later on because by being an anorexic, your body will never
be the same (slow metabolism, stretchmarks, etc). You better spend your teenage
life with your friends and not making your friends staying away from you.
Patricia has suffered from an
eating disorder. So did many
other teenagers out there. I' m
sharing her story to inspire you
guys that might have an eating
disorder, or maybe know
someone diagnosed with it.
Help them recover. Don' t be
scared of them and leave
them alone. All they need is
your understanding.
