MacArthur House Miss L Moorhouse - Head of House Miss M O’Fee - Guidance Manager It’s been a very busy term with so much happening my head is spinning! Along with the Spanish visit, end of year exams and the new timetable, staff and students are working so hard to keep making progress. Well done to you all, a very well deserved summer holiday is on its way soon. Until then, let’s see what’s been happening in the house this term… Lucy Forrest (M-JVe) has been busy competing at athletics again. This time she took on mean competition from four other schools in our District to be triumphant in the following events: 100m, long jump, Javelin and 800m! Watch this space. I think we have the next Jessica Ennis in the making. Lucy Forrest (M-JVe) and Matthew Simon (M-AMc) have both been selected to play for Derbyshire County Cricket Squad. Lucy also plays for Whitwell Cricket Club and plays for the school. Lucy describes herself as an allrounder but likes to bat and has even batted a 6. We wish her well in her game for the County. Matthew Simon has played several games of cricket now for the County and also plays for Clowne. Matthew enjoys the bowling and has taken 4 wickets in a county game and for Clowne Cricket Club 5. The new prefects were nominated by the tutors last week. We are so lucky to have so many great people to choose from, we have selected 18 prefects! The prefects are Zak Gibbs, Jessica Baker, Lucy Iddon, Bethany Iddon, Charlotte Burr,Bethany Groves, Lennon Burgin, Bethany James, Ryan Rawson, Lucy McGregor, Jackson Smith, Dellen Oke, Abbie Sandall, Irene Picciau, Reece Pendlebury, Nathaneal Limb, Oliver Scott, Lauren Hanson. MacArthur Prefects Hot off the press: We have just selected the new MacArthur House captains. Prefects put their name forward and the staff took a vote. It was a close result which had to go to a draw for the final choice but the new House Captains for MacArthur House 2016 are Lucy McGregor and Ryan Rawson. Lucy McGregor & Ryan Rawson Redgrave House Mr P Steed - Head of House Mr B Emment - Guidance Manager The old guard has now gone and the new guard has arrived! Firstly I’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to the Year 11 prefects for their contribution to the house. The majority of the prefect team gave hours and hours of their own time doing the lunch and bunch time duties. A special thanks must go to the Head Boy, Callum Law and Head Girl, Eve Draycott for being excellent roles models through out the year. All good things come to an end, and as the Year 11 leave a new crop of prefects are ready to take their place. Congratulations to the new Redgrave prefects - Lewis Salter, Abbie Kent, Koryn Shaw, Sian Lycett, Tanitia Moore, Jasmine Ellis Hatton, Josh Ashley, Harry Richardson, Samuel Shooter, Emily Smith, Fabia Attia, Faye Marshall, Jodie Essex, Hannah Findley, Carly Marsden and Alex Booth. Over the coming weeks Redgrave will be electing the new House Captains from the new crop of prefects. Over the past academic year Redgrave tutor groups take part in a regular weekly quiz. The quizzes have tested their knowledge in all subject areas including History, Languages, Science, General Knowledge and a variety of sports. Below is the current standing for the whole year! Massive well done to the current leaders with a total 303 R-JY! Over the coming weeks we are having our annual sports day! The house is currently putting together an unstoppable team in order to steal the top honours away from last year champions Westwood. Redgrave Quiz Table
