Farewell and Welcome to Our Staff

The Governors, staff and students at Heritage High School would like to say a massive THANK YOU for the numerous years of service and support that the staff who will be leaving the school at the end of the summer term have given.
Goodbye to our teaching staff Mrs Smith started her teaching career at the school in 1981 which is 35 years teaching in our community and has always taught catering( or Home Economics as some of us will remember her teaching us ….) and will be missed within our Creative Faculty.
Mrs Marsden has also been teaching for 35 years and joined the school in September 1991 as a PE teacher. She has now been teaching in our community for 25 years and has proved an invaluable member of the Senior Leadership team and will be missed by all her colleagues.
Mr Rowell joined the Maths team in 1991 and so has also been teaching at the school for 25 years and has been working part time for the last couple of years as he has tried to make the final step in retiring fully.
Thank you all for your dedicated years of service and we wish you all a very long, happy and healthy retirement.
Other teaching staff who will be leaving us this summer include: Mr Stacey who started his teaching career at Heritage in 2002 and although retiring from full time teaching still intends to play a part in educating the future generation of scientists. Mr Stacey has worked as Deputy Faculty Leader for Science for the last few years.
Mr Wood leaves the school after 6 years and for the last few years has worked as a Head of House alongside teaching in the Creative Faculty.
Mr Nuttall has worked for the school within Science on a temporary contract since December 2014 and leaves the school to move to a permanent teaching position.

Goodbye to our Support Staff The school could not function without the support of a great many support staff, and there is none greater than Mrs West who has worked at the school in various positions for over 20 years. She is currently employed working as a technician supporting Mrs Smith in Catering( who is also retiring) who she has worked closely with for many years. It would have been hard to imagine the cookery classroom with one of them missing, and so having decided to both retire in the same year the Creative Faculty are losing a great double act.
Mrs Kern leaves Heritage after 19 years to spend some time with her family having worked as a Teaching Assistant and more recently as a HLTA within the English Faculty providing intervention to students and generally supporting the work of the English teachers.
Mrs Ferreday started working at the school in 2004 and has supported the students at Heritage in her role as a Teaching Assistant for 12 years working within all areas of the school. She has recently provided targeted support within the Maths Faculty.
James Birchnall leaves us at the end of the summer term having been employed on an Apprenticeship scheme with the school as a Teaching Assistant. He has been undertaking studies as part of this and will successfully pass his training to become a qualified teaching assistant and we wish him every success in his search for a permanent role.
Holly Wragg is an ex-student of Heritage who joined us on a temporary contract in January 2016 to provide classroom support as a Teaching Assistant. Holly has proved to be a popular member of staff and will be missed by both the staff and students.
