Westwood House Mr E Wood - Head of House Miss A Jenkins - Guidance Manager Another great term for Westwood House in the run up to Christmas. The students have responded extremely well to the reshuffle of the tutor groups and we can now focus on GCSEs for Key Stage 4 and prepare Key Stage 3 for the start of their GCSEs. Once again a massive thank you to parents and carers of Westwood students as we are still above our target for attendance for the year so far. We are also the best house at Heritage up to press for attendance. We could not have this achievement without your support and the students commitment and we are extremely appreciative of this. If the students are not here, then it is hard for them to achieve so it is fantastic to see Westwood students making so much effort to be in school in spite of all the coughs and colds that are around at the minute. Westwood is still paving the way for sports success in the latest Inter-House competition. We recently won the first round of boys’ basketball against Redgrave, so well done to the lads for that. And we could not do these events without the support of our recently appointed sports ambassadors, Eve Bennett and Ethan Marsh. Congratulations to them both on their new appointment. It was delightful to see our Reading Ambassador, Lucas Crapper, giving up his time to work with younger students to support them with their reading. Well done to Lucas for his commitment to supporting others. I was fortunate once again to represent the school at the Clowne Remembrance Day service along with Westwood students and Head Boy and Head Girl, Jack Smith and Jessica Nash. They were both a credit to the school and I could not have been more proud of them and their commitment even forgoing a football match to attend such a worthwhile event. And finally, it was wonderful to see the class of 2015 at the recent GCSE awards evening. A huge congratulations to Chloe Twigg for winning the “Donna Chawner Award” for overcoming adversity to achieve and also to Trafford Baxter and Charley Eden for winning the Westwood Guidance Manager Award. So, once again, Westwood House has much to celebrate. We look forward to a new year and we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Redgrave House Mr P Steed - Head of House Mr B Emment - Guidance Manager This term sees a return of a modern classic Mallett’s Mallet. Many parents will have fond memories of the Timmy Mallet children’s show in the mid eighties. The game remains the same as the classic game s
