So what color stool should you be striving for? For optimum health, human
stools should be a milk-chocolate coloring.

The shape of your stool is very important when it comes to detecting health
problems. A perfect stool has a bit of an s-shaped squiggle at the very end,
where it has been allowed to mold to the intestinal sigmoid while waiting to be
voided.

Stool texture is a good indicator as to how well you are digesting the foods that
you eat. The healthiest stool texture resembles a wet clump of earth. Anything
softer and you are eating too many dense foods; and anything harder and more
formed suggests that you are not eating enough fibrous, water-soluble foods.
S i z e
So, how big should your stools be? Although the amount and size of your stools
should be in direct proportion to how much you eat, a person taking in app. 2000
calories a day should excrete about 2-3 ten inch logs per sitting, with a width
about the size of the circle made when you connect your thumb and index finger
together. Those eating an extremely high fiber diet may pass even larger stools!
