Yes indeed, you can tell a lot about what is going on in your body by the color, formation, texture, size and frequency of your stools. C o l o r The color of your stools can tell you a lot about what you eat, but it can also tell you when things are going wrong somewhere in your body. One of the best ways to track the reasons for color changes in your stools is to keep a food diary. When some new hue comes up (or out), be sure to check first to see if you ate something which could be causing the change. If not, consult with your doctor, especially if you notice the following: Yellow Stools – this could indicate improper liver function. If your liver isn’t making enough bile, the stool will often turn yellow(ish). Green – while many foods can turn your stool a greenish hue, it can also be a sign of improper digestion. Black – always report a black stool to your doctor since the most likely cause is blood or some sort of internal bleeding. | Hemorrhoid No More | By Jessica Wright Page 38
